I have a question to ask, but don't really know how to ask it.
Anyway I just built a computer with an AMD 64 bit processor and I want to know if there is a Mandriva software Power pack out there built for the new AMD 64 that will automatically load the NVIDIA drivers, and will it work?
I have had one heck of a time trying to get NVIDIA to compile, and I wonder if it will work with the new AMD processor.
The Mandriva software x86_64 I downloaded was a single CD I downloaded off a mirror site.
The Powerpack is the version you have to pay for by either buying the boxed set or becoming a member of the club. It contains RPMs for the Nvidia drivers (which install automatically) and yes there is an x86_64 version of it.
Is there a DVD version of it? How much is it to join or purchase it?

If you get a standard club membership its 60USD/year. This doesn't get you access to the powerpack (you have access to a 4-CD download version) but I think you can still add a urpmi repository and have access to the Nvidia RPMs. I'm not sure if you get access to the 64-bit version this way. Silver club membership is 120USD/year which gives you access to the powerpack (7CDs or 1 DVD incl. stuff like Nvidia), definately including 64-bit. I'm not sure how much the boxed sets are - check at www.mandrivalinux.com
If this puts you off remember that you can still just download the 3-cd download version (the 2006 download version will come out in November sometime) and once you've made a quick visit to easyurpmi you actually have access to more software than is in the powerpack, however unfortunately this doesn't include the closed-source stuff such as the Nvidia drivers, flash or Java RPMs. Installing Nvidia flash and java really isn't that hard.
You are better off taking up the silver membership for 120 euros a year. You get access to the powepack and isos of technology releases every two months (with the latest gnome and KDE).
Thanks to all I have signed up and I am downloading Mandriva Power Pack and will let you guys know how it works with the AMD-64 bit. So far it's been nearly 2 days and its still downloading.....(bittorrent)

It took me 2 days, as well. I got the DVD ISO and tried to burn it and the burn failed midway. I am not sure why, but I have a newer DVD dual burner. So still working on it.
