The gzipped sitemap came up in a Google search

I just did a Google search and had the gzipped sitemap come up as a hit:

Code:
www.linuxquestions.org/questions/sitemap_21.xml.gz

Hi dugan,

What's the status of this? What search string did you use to obtain that result? The link appears to work, but I understand your point in that it really should not show up, maybe.

I can't remember, and it happened on a computer where I couldn't just take a screenshot and attach it.

I notice that the *.gz file references something called sitemaps.org: http://www.sitemaps.org/

Here's their FAQ: http://www.sitemaps.org/faq.html

Wikipedia has this to say: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitemaps

It all seems rather silly to me.

Searching in Google this sequence: site:www.linuxquestions.org filetype:gz will obtain 53 results (53 sitemaps gzipped) - which is a good thing, because they have to be indexed by the search engines.
Seems normal to me!
