Posting Terminal input and coding tags

I posted a question on another forum today about Ubuntu/Nvidia drivers and was asked to run a command in terminal and post the input using coding tag. I know how to run the command, but don't know about pasting it in the reply section or what code tags are. could someone help this terminal Newbie out? Thanks in advance.

What Telengard posted is correct for LinuxQuestions. It may not apply directly with the other forum you're dealing with. It's best to search their website for a page similar to the first link Telengard gave for LinuxQuestions.

Not all forums use BBcode. Many of them do, but not all.

Also, as an example, if you look at Telengard's post, you would type the following directly into your response (using LinuxQuestions's BBCode) to get the code block he provided:

[code] this is what you get when you use code tags [/code]

So, to tie everything together, when the other folks ask you to paste the results into code tags, you run the command in a terminal, highlight the output of the command using your mouse, Select Edit->Copy from the terminal's top menu, then click inside your message response, use your browser's Edit->Paste menu item, and then place "[code]" at the beginning of the output you just pasted and place "[/code]" after the last bit of output you pasted.

EDIT:
My apologies if the above seemed condescending in any way. I couldn't tell if you were stuck on the copy-paste part, the code tags, or both.
