Nontechnical posts

i'm posting this in hopes of getting a free subscription.

i've one suggestion that, if applied, would improve my LQ experience. I'm on this site to get help and help others. the posts that are stupid games or anything that isn't about helping or getting help should be banned. when i go to "new posts" i see the board loaded with this crap and i must weed them out to get to meaningful threads. if people want to play chase or silly games, go to the playground.

Ah, i've just thought of a resolution to the "play" threads. separate real information from the play threads. this way people who need to learn linux and aren't that good with computers can get right to it. computer flunkies like myself can log on and become familiar with others problems and solutions. while those who find this easy and can play can do so elsewhere.

We already do this. Any non-technical posts are only acceptable in the General forum, and you can exclude that forum from any searches you do. Please note this has absolutely nothing to do with the thread you posted this in, so I've split it into its own thread.
