LQ Wiki: Languages and Resizeable Textarea

I got into editing and adding to the wiki the other day and I have some suggestions as to what can be added to improve it further:

Add support for multiple languages: Have pages look through the database for pages with an identical name but with a colon and a country code appended to it (e.g. Japanese version of GTK would be GTK:JP) and then show the flags of the appropriate countries (not very large) or even just some text in each language for which a copy of that page exists in stating that such a page does exist with a link to it.
I would certainly enjoy translating some pages and even if I couldn't do a perfect translation, if a native speaker were to view the page, they could likely fix it up fairly easily.
There could be an option in the user preferences to select a UI translation if one exists for your language.

Allow edit box to be enlarged: I have a Firefox extension called Resizeable Textarea which allows you to resize textareas (you never would've guessed ) but the wiki text box isn't a standard textarea so can't be resized with it. Is it possible to make the wiki box compatible with this plugin or even just have a full screen popup which has an edit box set to 100% width and 100% height?
As an aside, I finally managed to get hold of the LQ radio episodes and interviews and I see why you wouldn't be able to do a transcript of them -- they are too long and in places, you can't understand what people are saying (they talk over each other a lot).

Thanks

Hi orkie-

though other languages would be cool, this has already been discussed for the forums, and the desicion that was made was that, to aid moderation, only english would be allowed. (So people couldn't say abusive things in other languages, and not be caught)

no idea about the textbox

Search for the LQ radio transcripts in this forum- basically we need someone to volunteer.

I guess the languages thing makes sense -- even Lego had to close their non-English forums due to the moderation problem and they have a vast ammount of resources!

I've just installed the extension from:
http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=2796

It seems to be able to resize the textbox by clicking and draging on the bottom and left sides.

Is that the extension you are using?

What version of FireFox and OS are you using?

Yes, that is the one that I have got. I've tried it on Debian 3.1 and Windows XP, both using Firefox 1.0.6.

EDIT: Re-installing the plugin on Debian worked, but not on Windows (yes, I do need to run Windows because I'm working on some scripts to import Windows settings at the moment).

Well it seems to work on my slack-current install and on Windows XP home. Do the resize handles just not show or something?

Perhaps you could try removing the extension, clearing the cache, restarting firefox, installing the extension, restarting firefox then try the wiki again.
