Perhaps a self hosted .onion domain is warranted as an addition?

Perhaps LQ is using CloudFlare because it's bundled in their web hosting package, or because they want CDN/anti-DDOS?

I have a related issue if I try to upload an image from firefox. A new browser window opens saying its verifying connection is secure, then asking me to verify I'm not a robot, and then it tells me the thread is invalid. If I try from another browser, it works fine.

This morning I've been having the same problems.
Tried a hardwired connection. Tried wifi. Tried 3 different browsers. Deleted the hosts file and then the firewall. Didn't matter.
When I tried to connect to linuxquestions.org I was thrown to a cloudflare page that said the server at linuxquestions was the problem.
Then, suddenly, I was able to connect, obviously.
The bookmark I use takes me directly to the slackware forum. From there I can click on" linuxquestions.org > forums" at the top of the page and see the page listing the different forums. However, when I click on "linuxquestions.org" I get a white page that says, "Unexpected response code received."
Just FYI.

Yup, LQ was down her also for a while. Here that server is 35.244.195.25
I don't know how long. It was down from 7am to 9 am. I came back at 11am, working.

That would be 12:00:00 UTC to 14:00:00 UTC

I resolved this issue for me that was only happening with attachments (as posted above). In my case it was happening because of a custom user agent. Once I reverted to default, no more problems, can attach images again. What's weird is I'd been using that user agent string for a year or more and didn't cause a problem before. Maybe it didn't like that it reported an older version tho (as I hadn't updated the string in a long time), I didn't mess around with the string to figure out what part exactly caused LQ to misbehave when I tried to attach, just happy it's resolved on my end - but I still think the problem is on the LQ side, what happened shouldn't happen.

Forum display not correct. See screen shoots. Also when clicking on home I get this "Unexpected response code received.".

Arg... can't attach screenshots. No button under Attach Files. Getting text vice Icons in Quick Reply, Reply and when viewing a forum. Basically in most places.

Ditto.
This morning still getting the "Unexpected response code received" error and, as you pointed out, getting text instead of the icons when replying to a post.
