How to communicate with a specific forum "friend" member

I asked a member if there was a way in the future, if I do not get an answer to a post, or do not understand answers that I rcd , if I could contact that person. Their answers were really helpful to me. That person sent me a friend request ,which I accepted.

Now I do not see how do I now communicate with that friend?
Do I put their name in a post to have that person be notified by email?
I searched "friend" and do not find any posts....

Thanks for assistance on this !

If you know the LQ user name, you can send a PM or email from user's public profile, if he or she has those features enabled.

A little bit later:

You can access your "Friends" list by clicking on the "My Profile" item in the menu to the right.

A few ways.

Go to the link My LQ.

Go to the thread with the person and click on their name.

Do a search for their name and private message them.

Look under the "Contact" tab in the person's profile. If the functions are enabled by the member, you should see links to send a PM or email.

frankbell,

On profile, there is about me, statistics and friends... Is it under any of those?

I do not see it on that person's profile.

Guess I could do a post on the thread he helped me on...

How do I enable "contact" on my own profile?

Thanks you !

This is really preferred.
  1. Follow-up questions in the thread can help other people with the same problem.
  2. That's really the intentions of the forum.
  3. Other viewers of the thread may have additional, helpful information.

You need 150 posts before the private messaging feature is enabled.

See links here.
