How do I embed some words in a URL?

I mean, suppose the url is http://some_string. If I want the reader not to see it but instead see the word "This", say, in such a way that now the link looks like the single word This,...

Beg your pardon. Suppose your are writing a post in LQ. You can insert the URL in the post text and that's all. People reading post, can click on the URL and will be redirected. I think to remember I modified the string in this way: http://some_string. But it seems I am wrong for now the thing does not work. Could you tell me the exact format?

Code:
[url=http://some_string]This...[/url]
If you're wondering about the bolding: I didn't know a better way to get the square brackets to show up.

Try this...

Code:
[noparse][url=http://some_string]This...[/url][/noparse]
Full list of markup codes here (link also at bottom of page).
