CAPTCHA to register is difficult to read

my friend asked me for a linux forum to join. I recommended him to this place. But, he is having trouble registering because the CAPTCHA code is very difficult to read eg. some letters are fuzzy, squeeze or overlap each other or distorted. I understand the CAPTCHA is used to prevent spammers, but it also discourages regular folks to join.

A captcha is very much needed else automated spammer bots would make mess of the whole site.

FWIW, the vast majority of legitimate registering members should not even see a CAPTCHA. Can you have him send me a screenshot so we can have a look at it? Thanks.
