Can you make search ...search a string in a link....a url...a web address

Hi

Sometimes when you use a search term, you do not get a hit even if that string is in the web link posted by another member.

eg

try doing a search in General forum....for terms "vista sp1" with a time frame of one month ago and newer (more recent)

....I get zero results.

But when you go to General there is sticky
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...01#post3113901

it shows a link.....that contains the string....sp1....

http://apcmag.com/vista_sp1_wont_ins..._microsoft.htm

2) Can it be done?

thanks for any advise you can offer

The thread you linked to doesn't contain the term "vista sp1" - the URL has underscores in it, which the search parser will not break down into separate words.

I am not sure how to add a stem ...underscore to a search so that means all links are not searched unless done as a full string search?

I give up....I copied link address....I tried to put in into the search field but not all of the underscores show up.

bottom line, for me, I can not search for link address matches

I guess I'm not fully understanding what you are trying to accomplish. If I search this forum for
Code:
http://apcmag.com/vista_sp1
this thread comes up as expected.
