64 specific forum

I find my self struggling with 64 bit issues from time to time, so I think it would be in place with a forum specific for that purpose.

What do you all think?

im sure it's been considered.
i dont think there are enough problems (at least by the members here) directly resulting from 64-bit CPUs. i think the number of problems relating to 64bit cpus would be the same as the number of problems relating to AMD cpus or INTEL cpus. and because of this i think all three problems relating to these cpus can be generalized in the hardware forum.

just my quick opinion.

64 bit related problems are not neccesarily hardware related problems, they often fall under the software category too, yea we could again generalize and use the software forum instead, but I think it would nice with a forum that can go depth the this architecture.
But maybe you are right and there is not enough users yet, but 64 bit cpu's are taking over the market rapidly, so think it would be in place with a forum if not now then within a year or so.

I don't think so, just because an issue is appearing on a 64bit system doens't mean it doesn't fit in with Linux - Software, Linux - Networking etc. Previous rules should apply and if you have a specific question directly related to the technical differences between 32bit and 64bit computing then Linux - Hardware is the place.

feel free to tag the post with 64 to help group 64 bit processor questions together- it is kind of like a sub forum but not as divisive.

FWIW, 64bit or 64+bit will be much more useful. Simply using "64" is really not descriptive enough.
