I agree with the point in having an "other" option. It is good for indicating to the people viewing and the ones posting the poll whether the poll was representative.
How do I access the polls from earlier years?
Good idea with announcing and waiting before opening the polls in order to get feedback.
I've only just noticed this, but there's a mistake (I think) in the info under the title for the awards forum. It says "Voting ends March 16th", but the polls actually close on the 6th.
