And this the error that I see when I want to save it;

The following errors occurred with your submission:
  1. Your signature cannot be longer than 1100 characters including BB code markup.
I've learned to count a long time ago, but somehow I'm sure that there are less than 1100 characters.

It not only includes letters and BB Code markups, it also counts newlines, spaces, punctuation, etc. that you might not count as characters.

Yeah, I've been aware of that and to tell you the truth I don't see much sense in that too.

Anyhow, with all that, do you see 1100 of whatever there? I guess no.

Hi,

Depending on how things are formatted the mentioned text in post #1 is 1064 characters if all spaces between the BB code are removed. If there is a space between every BB code the text is 1112 characters.

I guess there is the possibility that you crossed the 1100 character limit after all.

Remove some punctuation or bbcode.

How is it all counted, then?

I've tried to save that signature without any space between any BB code. I was careful about that.

Anyhow, I've modified my signature, but would like to know why there's a limit and can it be, let's say 2000 characters?

To clarify, the signature limit includes all characters that are typed into the box; be they spaces, bbcode, etc. There is a limit in place as long .sigs are distracting, take away from the content of the thread and based on feedback are something that nearly all members dislike.
