postmarketOS in VirtualBox

I spent way too much time trying to get this to work.

Instead of using the QEMU preset you have to use the generic x86_64 UEFI preset (known as “tablet” in pmbootstrap). It also has to be on a SATA disk controller. It does work with Phosh and Plasma Mobile (those are the only ones I tested)

Broken as of March 2022

This no longer works as of March 29, 2022. Not sure what happened but it will get stuck at “Booting postmarketOS” in GRUB. No display output. Tried in VMWare and VirtualBox.

Only way to run postmarketOS in a VM now is QEMU.
