After loading openSUSE 13.2 on my Vaio with integrated nVidia graphics, things were chugging along smoothly...until I tried to adjust the screen brightness.
The OSD came up, and *SAID* it was going down/up with the FN key presses, but nothing would actually happen. I installed the nVidia drivers from the openSUSE repositories.
Adding this:
Code:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Default Device"
Driver "nvidia"
VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
Option "RegistryDwords" "EnableBrightnessControl=1"
EndSection
...to the bottom of the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-device.conf file did the trick.
