My newbie wireless (ipw3945) fed6 success
after much issue finally got my laptop working...added freshrpm's as a repo...did a yum install ipw3945 ipw3945d. that was it...
then start NetworkManager and I saw my wireless network and was able to connect...forget bout compiling yourself and don't use rpm's from atrpm's...just do it from freshrpms and make sure your kernel does not say xen at the end or it will not work...anyway hope this helps another struggling newbie get his/her wireless ipw3945 card working...
