Can clarify what distro you are using? Version of the distro? I suspect is those USB kind of connection between Linux and the mp3 player right?

yeah redhat 9.0(also works in redhat 8.0) the key point is normal mp3 player when connected to a pc windows does not recognize them as mass storge drive but this nomad is actualy a mass storge drive when u buy it it comes with another part when connected lets you play mp3 file in the storge drive also works in suse 8.0.

Depends on the way the device stores data and what filesystem it uses/needs to store the mp3's. If it's simply a nice plastic case on an HD, then you should be able to use USB Mass Storage. If it's an entire mini-pc and requires specific software to transfer the mp3's (which is might convert to a more proprietary format) then YMMV.

Cool
