Ways to earn money w/linux

Hello I consider myself an experienced gentoo user over the past years and unix/linux for the past 20 years, my question is way are some of the ways to earn money with a dedicated linux server with or without additional investement? Is it still possible or is the market too saturated at the moment? Any information would be appreciated.

Depends on what you mean extra server.

All sorts of people want hosting. If you have a good ISP and a healthy server and time and energy you can rent server space. Generally you make money on the side, like helping install stuff or technical issues like web design or such.

You can build a cloud for some small soho or company or group.

You can build web based applications that relate to cloud or distributed resources.

Ftp and other storage.

Hack into banks.

Well, maybe not all are good ideas.
