Thank you for a great community
Cheers,
I have been running Linux for about on two years but still consider myself somewhat of a newbie. Several years ago, I started using openSUSE but switched back to XP when I got a job in a new city and my family needed to stay in the old city to sell the house and pack everything... I believed that I was going to have to remote into the family (Windows XP) PC so I switched back to XP. About six months later and after the family moved to the new city, I planned to return to Linux but did not have the time nor did I want to hear the complaints from my family. Then one day, I accidentally left the PC on over night with nothing but my gmail account open. I had the firewall and all the 'anti' software running but the next morning, I found that I had numerous spyware issues just by leaving the PC on. That day, I switched the PC back to Linux. I installed openSUSE but my kids complained that some of their favorite websites were not working; I needed to install Java and Flash. Not having the time to add the software to openSUSE, I installed Linux Mint. All the computers are now running. The main PC is running Mint and I recently changed back to openSUSE on two pc because of network issues with Mint 6. The network issues were online video would not run correctly; specifically, my son likes to go to USANetwork.com and watch Burn Notice. Additionally, I replace Mint 6 with openSUSE on my laptop because I am having issues connecting to my churches wifi. I have a thread on this issue here -http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-wireless-networking-41/connect-to-specific-wifi-712908/
Well, that is me and my Linux story so far.
