Renegade on the rebound

Hi Everybody

I am a retired computer dealer who fiddles with gagdgets and keep myself busy, to avoid being called to the kitchen to peel veggies for my wife. So I have done the A-Z of Linux, meaning that I have tried both AriOS and Zorin, and quite a few in between. Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, Sabayon, PearOS, openSuSe, Mandriva, PCLinuxOS and various versions of most.

Anyone wanting to make a jump from Windows or Mac: Linux really is worth it as it is just stable, won't break the bank and it can do all it needs to, with functionality to spare.

I sold my iPhone 5 and bought a litle Huawei Y300 trick as iOS7 becomes increasingly worse as they release yet more updates that bring wave upon wave of woes, sometimes crippling an otherwise excellent system.

Marrying Mint with Jelly Bean is just a most satisfying experience.

My Linux just works and I found that several Huawei USB dongles have always worked right out of the box, never had wifi issues and it needs very little system resources. It even works better than my OS X Mountain Lion but the Mac system also is excellent. I just prefer Linux and have become confident enough to venture into the root terminal and tweak things without breaking the system although I am learning and not really know what I am doing.

My pioneering spirit loves adventure!

Worked for me but then I got assigned to cleaning the litter box instead.

Howdy and Welcome.

Thanks! When I am reading or working on the computer, I become totally deaf................it helps! (Truth: I like cooking and treating my lady well. No need for update and upgrades.)
