Rank Newbie
Hello all
My name is Lee, and I am a rank newcomer to Linux. I am nearing 70 years of age, and am barely computer literate. I Have been using the platform for several months with no problems. I have come to the end of my rope with Windows. It is an awfully good, easy to use program, but is so full of bugs, and so open to bugs, that I prefer not to use it anymore.
When a friend suggested Linux, I felt like a drowning man grabbing at straws. It looks like this straw is attached firmly to a lifeboat.
I am still trying to learn the terminology, so am a little slow at it. I have several friends who just go zip, zip, zip, and things happen. I am still at the "Cripes!how do I do this?" stage, so if I pose questions that seem simple to you computer genii, please be gentle. You may become old and slow someday too.
Best Regards
Lee

Many of us first came here with a question and then stayed here to help others, and so did I.
Linux system for me is like a sysadmin's desired heaven. But to get there i made a long and hard trip through windows and the linux beginner's problems
But now the time has come for me to step to a next stage of my life. It is time for me to learn new things. And get my freedom in computer world back at last!
We respect newcomers, remembering once we were new to all these things too
Good luck and enjoy LQ Feel free to ask help here, if something goes wrong.
I will try to help as much as I can
