Hello

I'm a long time Linux user but have never posted until now. I've read a lot and gotten helpful info here.

The reason for posting now is hopefully to be able to enter the 'first computer' poll.

Hi, John, and welcome to LQ!

Just a note that this thread should probably have been posted in the Members Introductions forum (it's no biggie). I've notified the moderators and hopefully they'll move it over there shortly.

My first ...

My first computer was a Cosmac Elf, powered by RCAs mighty 1802 processor and programmed in machine language. It was fun.

My goodness, you've been using computers for a long time. When did you use that? Did you end up in a computing-related career?
