Linux 'Newbie' with goals... ;-)

Hi there,

found this site some days ago and already learned alot. Thanks for this great community, and may it last forever.

I'm quite a Linux newbie from Leipzig, Germany, had a quick look at Suse6.1 years ago, but I'm now with Suse9.1. Already finished to successfully set up and configure some single workstations to their existential needs and at the moment trying to get Samba running as main authentication system for Windows and Linux Workstations.
I'd also like to show some 'Windows Nerds' the power Linux can unfold to their daily work. The best way (I can think of) is to turn their SGI540 Visual Workstation (a 4proc Intel machine currently running... erm... not running... Windows NT4.0) into something they'll never ever want to run Windows NT4.0 on it again. But this is only a midterm goal - this machine is a challenge, it cannot boot from CD, I'll have to use a loader called arclx.
If one of you out there can help me later with this issue I'd really like to know. You guys like challenges, I know it...

Best wishes,
//mc

if you want to install an OS to a machine, which won't boot from a CD, then you should make a bootdisk
