Smile Installations failes over libstdc++.so.5

Hello,

I am using - Red hat Linux 2.6.9-42.ELsmp #1 SMP i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux.

While trying to install a compiler or other application i get the following error:

error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Error extracting package

the library does not exist but a newer version is installed:

libstdc++.so.6.0.3

from were I can install the older version and how?
Thank you,
Nadze01

this forum is clearly stated as being for saying hello only... can i ask why you personally posted a question here instead? did you see something somewhere suggesting that you should? a lot of people have started doing this recently, and if you could tell us why you chose here other than a normal forum, that'd be great.
