Well, that's it, hello!
I've been thinking linux for a long time now, and I've made my final move to this OS a little over a month ago.
I have used Linux before, back when Slackware was version 8 or 9, 2002ish?
Back then it was a challenge for me just to be able to say hello world!
I was connecting from a 56k modem (downloaded slackware disks in 3 nights...)
Didn't know a thing about linux (well, not true or otherwise I wouldn't have decided to give it a try, lol), and.. had fully removed windows98 from my box... and I had a modem which requested software from windows to run...
I had to partition my hard drive, and re-install both linux and windows to get to connect to the net to ask google what to do to get linux connected.
After buying some games I came back to a fully windows installation, to save some space.. re-partitioned and tried ubuntu when I heard of it, and went back to win98 as there wasn't much in ubuntu to get me out of gaming.
Then I built this box, and ran it on winXP for 3 years.. got tired of the bloatedness of windows and decided to give linux another run...
WOW. I first tried Ubuntu 9 for a week, then went Gnewsense for a few days to see if I was a purist.. came back to Ubuntu 10 when it released. and re-discovered Slackware, which I've been running for 3 weeks or so now,
And here I am!
I'm sure I will find this forum helpful, and I'll try to give back what I can to it when I have the opportunity!
