Hello! New to Linux - sort of...

Hey Everyone.
Linux newbie but always learning.
Long time Windows user and computer technician background.

Currently I am a full time Occupational Therapist / Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Computers are my hobby and I am the family / friends "tech guy".

Typing this on Panasonic Toughbook CF-30 with Ubuntu - Mate. Out of Puppy, Slax, Mint, this was the only one to have the network adapter work on a fresh install. In fact, everything works great. Loving Ubuntu Mate so far.

Now on to learn more about the command line. Looking forward to learning from you all!

Hi Tommy83 and welcome to LQ!

I continually see a lot of Raspberry Pi systems being used in research for new solutions in the medical field.

What people seem to be trying to do is connect medical equipment to the cloud so they can learn from the monitoring. Lot's of research.

Sounds cool - thanks for responding! If you have any resources or sites on the topic to recommend that would be super. I will use google in the meantime.

I have some ideas to facilitate communication between facilities or physicians regarding a patient's specific needs... but I need to learn a lot more about the technologies before being able to implement anything. Right now they are just ideas... but that's where it starts eh?
