thought it time I joined up... especially as I had a question which googling didn't help me with - but did find a hint on your pages. Have added to a thread under linux-hardware, but linux-kernel might've been more appropriate. Is it taboo the repeat the same question in multiple forums I wonder?
hello and yes it's definitely a no no. if you do, you'll get a nice reply that says "Please post your thread in only one forum. Posting a single thread in the most relevant forum will make it easier for members to help you and will keep the discussion in one place. This thread is being closed because it is a duplicate."
You forgot to mention that if a user wants his/her thread in another forum they should ask the moderators of that forum to move the thread for them.
Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll leave my query where it is at the moment, given the thread was very closely related, but perhaps reconsider in a few days if no one seems to be viewing it.
