Half way there

Just installed FC2 over the last weekend, installation was so so (integrated ethernet problem, resolved with a new adapter :-) ). Still learning my way around, and looking forward to start developing software (back to the roots). Lately (last 5 years) exclusively developed on MS platforms and got spoiled by their IDE. Is there something like free and stable IDE and UML design tools for Linux?
