Hi all,
I'm a Newbie's Newbie. I decided to try and salvage an old MS XP laptop after letting it sit idle for a long while. My quest opened the Linux rabbit hole, so here I come. So far, it looks like hardware issues are delaying my Linux baptism, but it's been fun learning about the different distros along the way. In fact, I've burned several different disks (on my working Mac), thinking some incompatibility with specific versions was locking up my laptop, but after several failures, it became obvious it not Linux, it's a hardware problem.
I hope to get things sorted out sometime soon. Can't wait to join the fun and actually have something meaningful to share/ask here soon.
