Technically my adventure in Linux on the Desktop began in 2015, but I officially declared it in 2016.
I use CentOS 6/7, Korora 25, and Lubuntu 16.04 currently. I have one laptop running devuan (switched to sid repos to get freeipa, so it's some unidentifiable half-breed, but still on sysvinit)!
Learned some Ubuntu 12.04 in class, or was it 10.04? The book taught to the older version, so maybe 8.04? Anyway, I started administering CentOS 6 and 7 in 2013. I've done apache, some jboss, ezproxy, nfs, cifs, vsftpd, sssd, ldap, and all that good stuff: Enough alphabet soup to keep non-techies' heads spinning!
I maintain my home network on the Linux platform. I had a huge project which switched out my last 2008 R2 machine for CentOS 7 and never looked back. I did like Group Policy, but I just have the one Windows client for a few games.
I actually just joined the forum to answer a guy's post...
Time to learn if I'll get modded for tooting my own horn! Visit my blog at
https://bgstack15.wordpress.com/-- it's mostly the tidbits I learn about Linux.
Oh, BBCode! The last time I used that I was in high school. I wonder if I can switch the box to use html...
