ASUS netbook with Ubuntu Netbook Remix

Retired programmer from WebMD - clipper, believe it or not. Most of the work happened in 4DOS (command shell replacement) and using TSE (QEdit decedent) for coding. Used to working at the command prompt.

Live out in the boonies and have been limping along on dial-up until last winter. Got DSL now (woohoo!!!) and the first thing I did was to download Linux. Always wanted to try it. Have worked in the past on DEC machines - PDP-11 of various flavors and Vax. Getting real comfortable with Linux - tried puppy linux first, then saw a reference about the netbook remix. Does a good job of working with the limited screen real estate.
