Are you people really as friendly as you claim? :)

Surely you're not as friendly as Nflders, the friendliest people in the world!
Please feel free to google that for confirmation.

Sorry if I misjudged your post; thought it might have been someone trying to get people to google the name of a website to attract visitors.

Anyway, welcome to LQ. Hope you enjoy it here (we're generally friendly here)

Nfld is a province in Canada.

P.S. "Solved" does not appear in the drop-down "Thread Tools".

Ahh, I see, I apologise for my ignorance

I think threads in 'Non-*NIX>General' and 'Members Intro' can't be marked as solved (only support threads), so it's ok .

Haha, I admit my first post was not precisely friendly, sorry about that. As I said before, people are generally friendly and helpful here .

That's OK... I don't know much about Maturin, other than it's similarly populated.

Yeah, it's not a thread that begs a solution anyway.

I also missed the reference!

Some of my best friends are Nooffies - or used to be! And a few are Canadians, eh!

Welcome to LQ!

I wonder did the term "Noofies" play any role in the reason they're no longer your friends?

Does the "Quick Reply" hold any advantage over the non-quick one?

If you click the "Go Advanced" button under the compose post dialogue, you get more options for formatting your post, such as inserting "code" tags and the like. In most cases, the "Quick Reply" is adequate. "Go Advanced" is useful when complex formatting will make your post communicate more effectively.

Aaaah yes, I see (said the blind man). Won't be tomorrow I'll need complex formatting!

... but thanks, Frank.

So much to learn; so little time.
