wpasupplicant + prism54 - can anyone debug this output?

I'm trying to get wpasupplicant working under Ubuntu 'Breezy' 5.10.
My wireless card is an SMC2835W which is working well w/ the Prism54 driver with the network 'open'. ( Linksys WRTG54G wireless router, WPA capable.)
I've installed wpasupplicant w/ apt-get, and edited my wpa_supplicant.conf file as follows:

#WPA-PSK/TKIP "Home Network"
network={
ssid="myhomenetwork"
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
proto=WPA
pairwise=TKIP
psk="mypassphrase"

}

When I input the following (with the proper 'sudo' permissions) in a terminal:

gdub@devoid:~$ wpa_supplicant -ieth1 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -Dprism54 -dd

I get the following output which 'loops' continuously until I Ctrl-C it:

Trying to associate with 00:0f:66:90:b2:d1 (SSID='myhomenetwork' freq=2437 MHz)

Because I'm fairly 'n00b' @ linux, the output is a bit 'cryptic' to me...
If anyone could decipher something in there which would help me 'pinpoint' why I can't make an encrypted connection to my router, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

Support for wpasupplicant is not implemented in the prism54 driver.
For wpa support you could use ndiswrapper and the proprietary windows drivers.
