wpa_supplicant and ndiswrapper

The only thing I changed in the .config file for wpa_supplicant before building was this (I figure there may be another necessary change to solve my problem):

# Driver interface for ndiswrapper
CONFIG_DRIVER_NDISWRAPPER=y

However, when I run this command:

./wpa_supplicant -dd -D ndiswrapper -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

I get:

Initializing interface 'wlan0' conf '/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf' driver 'ndiswrapper'
Unsupported driver 'ndiswrapper'.

I have ndiswrapper working properly with my WCP54g v2 Linksys card, but for whatever reason that is currently beyond me I'm unable to get wpa_supplicant to accept ndiswrapper as a driver.

Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Should be enough to get them working together. But since you do not tell what distro, what kernel and what version of ndiswrapper you're using, I can only guess (which I won't).
You do have the ndiswrapper module loaded?

I use ndiswrapper on Slackware, my.config (for recent CVS version of wpa_supplicant) can be found here - you can compare that to what the rest of your .config looks like. Should not be too different (I enabled support for some more wireless drivers).

BTW I have ndiswrapper working with wpa_supplicant.

Thank you very much for the quick response. What finally got it to recognize the ndiswrapper driver oddly enough was a make clean then a remake. For whatever reason the binaries it made in the wpa_supplicant.x.x.x folder weren't being overwritten. (I had initially built without enabling the option in the .config). Thank you very much for your time.
