Unhappy WPA-PSK ERRORS when using ndiswrapper

I've recently installed my WPC54G using ndiswrapper. On open wireless routers and wep routers it works ok. even with the wep keys that use 128 bit encryption.

When I try to connect to a wpa-psk system the ssid keeps disappearing. I use the same commands to set up wlan0 as when I'm connecting to the wep secured wifi but the wpa-psk wifi doesn't seem to stay in config. Any suggestions? Below is the script I run to connect to each. (both use the same 128 bit key)

/sbin/iwconfig wlan0 essid 'ESSID'
/sbin/iwconfig wlan0 mode Managed
/sbin/iwconfig wlan0 key restricted XXXXXXXX
/sbin/ifconfig wlan0 up
/sbin/dhclient wlan0

just thought I'd post again to move it back to the top since I still haven't resolved this on my own and haven't gotten any responses yet

Are there some faq sheets that I'm supposed to have already found somehow before asking my questions here?

I've done searches on both google and here for wpa-psk but have not found anything to help. Does ANYONE have any knowledge they'd be willing to share?

For parties interested in pursuing a solution in same/similar situations:

I was talking about linux on a BARBER's forum of all places and was directed to the following links:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/...ad.php?t=93054
ftp://ftp.silfreed.net/repo/fedora/4...freednet/RPMS/

The first is a how to install and use wpa_suplicant and the 2nd is a place for several of the older rpms that have been tried and tested and worked.

I'm still working on it but at least now I have some direction and am closer to a permanent solution than before.

Thank God for intelligent barbers.

An update for those interested in the solution. DM on the first site has actually taken the wpa_supplicant rpms for FC5 and modified and built them against FC4. If you're experiencing issues of wpa showing repeated disconnects you might want to take a read on the thread.

I have the same problem.

I use the bcmwl5a driver, and have bee trying to get it to work with WPA for 18 hrs straight! I solved the problem by going back down to 64bit 10 character HEX WEP key. Great for Linux, but bad overall for my WLAN which I really want WPA-PSK on...
