wireless so close, what file to configure
I'm runing Slackware 10.1 attempting to access my wireless network on a linksys WPC11 ver3 card.
I am completely new to setting this up, and could use some help
I believe I am getting really close. The network card lights up, and ifconfig shows it.
When I run iwconfig I get the following:
eth1 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"Fire God" Nickname:"Prism I"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462GHz Access Point: 00:13:46:16:B1:22
Bit Rate:2Mb/s Tx-Power=15 dBm Sensitivity:1/3
Retry min limit:8 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality:44/92 Signal level:-57 dBm Noise level:-142 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:2028 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
I think that is good since I know Fire God is a wireless network around me. However, it is not my network. What / Where do I change to have it point to my network. I am not broadcasting my essid and I am running WEP. Any help is greatly appreciated! TIA!
