Wireless PCI Adapter Problems with Fedora 6

Extremely extreme

I was told to get a PCI wireless card with the ATHEROS chip set for the purpose of compatability, so I bought an AirLink 101 AWLJ4130 and installed it. Fedora 6 didn't recognize it. I called AirLink to see if they could help, but they don't have a Linux driver. Is there any hope of getting this card to work with Fedora 6?

This is my very first time ever posting to any kind of newsgroup, and I am intimidated by the level of knowledge of the people who are posting. I am just just beginning to hopefully become a Linux user. However, I need internet access right away so that I can get two programs that I use extensively, the statistical package R and the text processing program LaTeX.

Thank You in advance for your patience.

GNU/Linux recognises devices by chipset. Your Airlink 101 AWL-4130 is recognised and supported by Madwifi as a "AR5212". Have a look at a FC Madwifi HOWTO like http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/Distro/RedHat.

Linuxquestions.org (LQ) is not a newsgroup or channel. We're GNU/Linux(-related) fora.

Don't be. Instead think of that knowledge as something you can tap into and learn from.

It's like all the other stuff that comes with a manual: investments (time, reading, practice) are necessary before you may expect any (proper) results.
