Wireless Driver Woes

Ah... So close yet so far. I've been trying to install this driver for my Wireless. I tried running /home/me/ipw2100.1.1.0/load and I keep getting this error:

Code:
FATAL: Module firmware_class not found.
insmod: can't read './ieee80211.ko': No such file or directory
insmod: can't read './ipw2100.ko': No such file or directory
No modules loaded.
...then I try the other version at /home/me/ipw2100/1.1.3/load and get

Code:
/home/Israel/ipw2100-1.1.3/load
No modules unloaded.
FATAL: Module ieee80211_crypt_tkip not found.
FATAL: Module ieee80211_crypt_ccmp not found.
insmod: can't read './ipw2100.ko': No such file or directory
Loaded: ieee80211_crypt ieee80211_crypt_wep ieee80211
Any suggestions?

What adaptor/chipset? For example, I use a d-linkDWL-650P1, prism3 chipset.
For that one, I have to use wlan-ng. Tried ndiswrapper, but that didn't work at all.
Give us the hardware specs if you can please. Then we can work out where/why/how

Ok, I believe the specs are:

Averatec 5100
512 RAM
Intel Graphics
40GB Hard Disk
Intel(R)Pro/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter
(That's Intel "Pro Set" if that helps)
and I'm running Mepis 3.3
