Question wireless cards do not work with suse 10.3 on PC

Hi,
We are new guys with Linux. We have three kinds of wireless cards,TP-Link TL-321G,XI-725(Z-Com) and AT75C502A.We use suse 10.3 system and we have installed wlan-ng-default on the PC.However, only XI-725(Z-Com) can be configured with IP address, while the other two types cannot be configured in Yast.
Here we will show the problem we found as follows:

In Yast2 under the path Devices->network cards,we see that
Intersil Prism 2.x 802.11b adapter(not connectd)//XI-725(Z-Com)
busID:4-2:1.1
Device name:wlan-wlan0
Started automatically a boot
IP address assigned using DHCP
//Here we cannot see the MAC address of XI-725.
//We try to use static IP address on it,which is 192.168.1.2 //,allocated as we pleased. This does not change the results.

The result of "iwconfig":
wlan0 no wireless extensions.

The result of "ifconfig wlan0 up":
SIOCSIFFLAGS:No such device

The result of "ifconfig wlan0 down":
//Correct.No results shown in shell.

The result of "lsusb":
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 09aa:3642 Intersil Corp. Prism 2.x 802.11b adapter

It is quite strange that the computer knows the device of the wireless card, but does not know its MAC address. The card is OK,for we have tested it under windows system with no big problem. Can anyone tell us the reason and what should we do to deal with it?
By the way,we do not want use dniswrapper to make the card work.

We are very appreciate for that.
Thank you very much.

Sorry,I forgot to say that we choose ad hoc mode for it.
We have not constructed a network yet,for we have to make the wireless card be in "on" state, and its MAC address being recognized, firstly.

I tried to use "dmesg" right after having inserted XI-725(Z-Com)into the USB interface. Here is the information:
usb 4-1:new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
usb 4-1:config 1 has an invalid interface number: 1 but max is 0
usb 4-1:config 1 has no interface number 0
usb 4-1:new device found,idVendor=09aa,idProduct=3642
usb 4-1:new device strings: Mfr=0,Product=0,SerialNumber=1
usb 4-1:SerialNumber:01310007
usb 4-1:configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

My kernel module is 2.6.22.5-31-default.
How could I know that it support IP aliasing?
Is it the reason that the card doesn't work?

Hi I am back.
I tried several times, but failed. One of my friends told me that if I use wlan-ng as the driver of the wireless network card,I should know that it did totally support the card.If not,I may have to change the kernel source. So I tried ndiswrapper. It did work with another card of mine,TP-link WN220,with ad-hoc mode being used. Now I have another problem. The IP address of TP-link,which is connected to the PC,is 192.168.1.3,and the IP address of the notebook computer(IBM R61),with a PCMCIA card Ricoh R/RL/5C476(ii),is 192.168.1.3.PC is connected to the wire networks, while Notebook is not. Both cards work on the same wireless network, which we call wire(essid). It can be seen that both the notebook and the PC are connected through the wireless network. Then I change the IP address of the PC,and the notebook show disconnected immediately.I try to change the IP address of the notebook, and this time, the notebook is still conneted.
Then I try to ping the notebook through the PC,and it succeeds. But when I try to ping the PC through the notebook, the loss rate is 100%.
It is really strange.I am not fimilar with how to make them connected. Can anyone tell me how to do with it?
Thank you so much.

I'm back.
There are still problems I cannot solve now.
The TP-link does not work after I reboot my desktop computer with linux. The Intersil prism 2.x 802.11b adapter seem to work now. There are several things that I cannot explain now,for I am not quite fimilar with linux and the wireless cards.(What a shame!......)Here are the strange things
I found here:
1. The TP-link does not work, even its light is off.
2. I set prism2 to work at the reboot time, and I use ndiswrapper to drive its .inf file. Now after the computer is rebooted,I plug it,and its light is on.The light does not flash, which means it has already in some wireless network.I use iwconfig to see and it is in a network with the essid called ANY.Mode:managed.Cell:***********(I don't know the which MAC address the cell uses, for it is not any of the MAC address of my wireless cards.)
3.The wireless card of my laptop(IBM R61),with windows xp system,is set to be in a wireless network with essid called eee.Mode:from computer to computer.
I change the essid of Prism2 card to be eee,and then the mode to be ad-hoc,and the wireless card of the laptop seems to be connected at once.Signal strength:strong.(Both wireless cards are so close to each other).
4.The most strange thing happens!!!!!!I open yast2(I use open Suse10.3,kernel source:2.6.22.5-31-default),choose network device->network cards, and see the prism2 card.I can see its MAC address, its ip address,as well as its chip name. But the configure shows that its still with a mode managed.I changed the configure here to be the same as I have done in the shell window, and then press finish. Then I press iwconfig in the shell. The mode of the card change back to be managed. And the wireless card of the laptop is disconnected.I changed the mode to be ad-hoc,and the wireless card of the laptop is connected again.
5.I can ping the ip address of the wireless card of the laptop, but I cannot ping the wireless card of the desktop under linux system.I don't know why.
ping results:
connect:network is unreachable.(linux)

Can anyone tell me how to deal with it?
thank you so much!!!!
