I am running wind river linux 7 on a dell 5000 machine. By default it comes with eth1 and wlan0 as bridged interfaces. I want to use them separately, so i removed bridging my network configuration before and after looks like:
with bridging:
config interface 'lan'
option type 'bridge'
option proto 'static'
option ipaddr '192.168.1.1'
option netmask '255.255.255.0'
option ifname 'eth1 wlan0'
without bridging:
config interface 'lan'
option proto 'dhcp'
option ifname 'eth1'

option ifname 'wlan0'
route -n gives:
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
192.168.128.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0
192.168.128.0 192.168.128.1 255.255.255.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0
192.168.128.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 wlan0
both eth0 and wlan0 got assigned ip's now, but there's no route added for wlan0 and hence i can only ping eth0. pinging wlan0 gives request timeout.
I can manually add a route with iface as wlan0 and that works too but is there any proper way of configuring this ? [adding routes manually using 'route' are not persistent across reboots too
