what is the correct driver for linksys wusb54gc version 3

Hi all,
Im having big trouble trying to make a wireless dongle work on my hp dv5 laptop, It has a built in wireless- broadcom 4312 that I wish to stop using and only use the dongle. I have installed various versions of rt73 from ralink without sucess. Now Im at the point of not knowing how to dis-install all these unwanted drivers, and still getting no-where fast in making my dongle work ok. I saw a tutorial on infinityexists.com and they used the same dongle as me for network testing monitoring and injection etc, so Im wondering if something has been changed in version 3 to stop this. Does anyone have any experience of this and can help me pls?

when your usb dongle is plugged in run
Quote:
lsusb
in a terminal to see if it is listed. If it is run
Quote:
lsmod
in a terminal see if the rt73 module listed. If not try
Quote:
sudo modprobe rt73
in the terminal. Blacklist your other cards modules(I think the modules might be b43 and wl but you can google and find out for sure) should keep it from being used. good luck
