Sitecom wl-345 usb wifi stick won't work backtrack

Hi everybody,

I'm still a noob on backtrack and i don't get it right to let my wifi usbstick work or my pci adapter. When i type in shell airmon-ng i see the following details :

wlan0 chipset Ralink RT2870/3070 driver rt2800usb - [phy0]

Ok and when i try to use airodump-ng wlan0 it gave me an error:

ostl(siocsifflags) failed: No such file or directory

I'm running backtrack 4 r2 on the newest version of vmware. And i got also a atheros ar9285 card in my computer. Any idea how to fix this ? Thx please write in noob languase. Thanks !

what is the output of iwconfig?
maybe your card don't support monitoring. Try with the other? Try with live cd, there is no need for virtual machine..

Runned live cd

Hi, thank you for your replay. I tried to run the live-cd and when i typed airmon-ng it shows nothing. And i also tried iwconfig and it gave me the following messege:
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions

I also tried the usb stick on three different pc's.
