restricting access to APs


How can I restritct access to my access points so no body can just pop in my yard with a laptop and sniff, etc. Is MAC address limits the best way? And how do I accomplish this? (My main AP is embedded in the Linksys wireless G router)

Also, are there any wireless PCI cards that work with linux out of the box?--ie does any manfacturer make linux wireless drivers?
