Pcmcia Wireless WEP key problem

everytime i have to type in the following commands to get my laptop connected to a WEP enabled route:

iwconfig eth1 enc XXXXXXXX
/etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng start eth1

otherwise i would get one beep after a while and then the LED of the pcmcia card would start flashing

how can i save the WEP key so i don't need to type it in every time?

you would normally edit the config file that starts the eth1 card (in RedHat it is in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1).

But if you are running Knoppix from the CD I'm not sure where you would store that information permanently - other than burning a modified CD, or loading the config files from another location.
