Orinoco Silver Card in Slackware 9.0

Hi!
I'm getting internet through an external antenna and a silver Orinoco PCMCIA card.
I have been using linux pretty long, but can't get the orinoco card to work within it. This means I have to use Win for internet, which I don't actually like. As I have to reboot everytime I want to check my mail!

So, I've been reading a lot over the net.
By running dmesg, I know that hermes, orinoco.c etc are running.
So I run iwconfig.
It show eth0 as the 802.11-DS. ESSID is blank, Nick is HERMES I and so on. I manage to set ESSID and nick by using "iwconfig eth0 essid myessid" and "iw....... nick Thomas". But it won't let me set any other options.
Like encryption key and access point. It says that the operation is not supported by the card.
I've installed a program named KWiFi Manager. This just shows either 00:00:00... or 44:44:44... as the access point.

Also, when I get to set these values, how can I attach the device to a network?

I've tried explaining everything as good as I could here. Hope someone can help me in my quest in getting internet in Linux.
Looking forward to your answer, and thank you in advance,

-Firemorph
