No more wireless after kernel upgrade

Hi all.

I have an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG card, rightly setted up on Fedora Core 4.

Since I upgrated from 2.6.14-1.1637_FC4 to 2.6.15-1.1833_FC4 I have an error when starting eth1: eth1 is not present.

I noticed: if I start Internet Configuration Wizard from latest kernel, I can see my Intel card between Ethernet devices. Starting the same Wizard from previous kernel lists Intel card between wireless devices.

How can I solve?

Did you have to install special drivers or extra RPMs or any additional software to make it work previously? Every time you upgrade a kernel EVERY additional driver or module that is not included in the upgraded kernel must be re-installed (or updated).

are you running ndiswrapper?

I have found that when you upgrade a kernel you have to un-install ndiswrapper and re install.

Make sure you delete all files containing the old ndiswrapper information.

Instructions are on the ndiswrapper site.

Dear mjmwared I had not installing extra RPMs, not additional software.

I'll try to follow ttoennis' suggest, hope will be good for my problem.

Actually 'ndiswrapper' is considered extra driver/software

Upgraded to Fedora 5. I removed Intel PRO/Set Wireless and Broadcom Ethernet. Leaved kudzu in services and reboot.

I can see now that Intel PRO/Set Wireless is in the Hardware tag in my Network Configuration, but it is as Ethernet type, not Wireless.

If I try to make a new connection, if I select Ethernet I have Intel PRO/Set. If I select Wireless I can choose only "Other wireless device", Intel is'nt among wireless devices!

Now, I should think Intel is set up as Ethernet device, not as Wireless. How can I set it right?

Bye
