need help installing netgear wireless adapter


hi all, first i have to introduce myself. this is my 1st time here and my name is stani. i am a linux novice. just started on it 2weeks ago and i must say i love it! now my problem is i have a netgear wireless adapter that works fine with my windows os but i cant seem to figure out how to get red hat to see it. like i said i am new to this, if something has been posted about this before and it is easy to follow step by step, then please point me to it, if not, then please tell me what to steps to take. thanking you.

Madwifi

I'd recommend using the madwifi driver, especially if you have a nic with atheros chipset.

It works excellent,and has more features as the other opportunity: ndiswrapper.

And: I agree, Wifi is not very well supported from most standard distributions.

Therefore: Madwifi ! Hope this helps !

hey!thanks for the madwifi recom. but it says usb devices are not supported and my netgear is a usb wg111. any workaround?

Sorry for the wrong hit, I did not use an USB-Adapter !
The other options is to use ndiswrapper.

It enables usage of windows driver on Linux.
