ok i have ndiswrapper working with my belkin (rtl8180 based card) on 2.4.22 (stock slack 9.1). i wanted to do kernel upgrade on the server and tried 2.6.10. i don't need usb support so i didn't compile it. installed ndiswrapper (tried 10,11,12 versions), and none of them worked. when i tried to insmod it said "failed" and showed some errors with usbfunctions. my question is if the usb support has anything with ndiswrapper failing. if anyone out there have successfully ndiswrapper working w/o usb support compiled into kernel (i know that now everyone has it compiled into kernel), but the server is so old it doesnt have usb ports . LMK

I've not tried without usb but I had to use ndiswrapper-1.0-rc1 when I switched to 2.6.10 kernel.

thanks /bin/bash i will experiment with 2.6.10 (no usb support) and will try the rc1 version. thanks for the input.
