geez i hat wg311v2 i mean is a good wireless card but god no support, the thing is i had it working on fedora core2 with a custom kernel 2.6.4 i had to format due to some hd problems, and now i got up with ndiswrapper again but.... heres the problem
after i modprobe ndiswrapper i get the correct msg on dmesg but when im adding a new wireles device on the the network config it doesnt appear ndis wlan0, the first time i did it, it did show up the ndis/wlan0 device but now it wont, i dont get why if anyone can help me thanks a lot
I've heard a couple of reports that Fedora's graphical network tools don't recognize wlan0 as a proper name for a network device and therefore don't show it. You might try editing your /etc/modprobe.conf and change the line
yeah i did that before so i could be able to post but thats not the point, the thing is i wanna know why it worked before and it didnt now, and why it works for some people and is not working for me right now

The only way to answer this question is to start looking through your log files. Though to be honest, so many people have so many wierd problems using ndiswrapper on Fedora that I doubt you'll really find the answer.
So isn't it time to start trying with the command line anymore if the GUI doesn't do something right
You can set your wlan0 with essid like this:
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 essid ****
You can check if it's right with "iwconfig". If you have wep key you can set it as well I don't know the command but "iwconfig --help" will list it. After this you can run a dhcp program to get the rest of the settings:
Code:
dhcpcd wlan0
You can check if it's right with "iwconfig wlan0" and "ifconfig wlan0"
Well i got it, is kinda dumb but i got, so for all newbies like me heres the thing, if you use the command ndiswrapper -m before checking for the interface when you get in the network thing and press add a new interface youll find a in wireless ndiswrapper wlan0 and there you go set it up activate and thats it, that way you can set it to activate on boot and not have to modprobe ndiswrapper everytime you boot, even if you alias eth1 you had to modprobe ndiswrapper for some reason still figuring out thanks for the help guys
