ndiswrapper instllation fails on dell 8600 with fedore core2

I am new to linux world.

After istalling fedore core 2 test2 package on dell 8600 lapop with centrino wirless card

I tried isntalling drivers for my wireless card ( intel pro wireless lan 2100 3b mini pci adapter)

I followed stepas given in INSTALL file of ndiswrapper 0.6

When I run ndiswrapper -l <path to .inf file>, it runs ocrrectly,
then
I ran modprobe ndiswrapper, it just return prompt after 2 seconds ( I though that it worked)

When I looked at /var/log/messages I saw following log

ndiswrapper version 0.6 loaded
audit(1081538099.159:0): avc: denied { execute } for pid=3344 comm=events/0 n ame=loadndisdriver dev=hda5 ino=195790 scontext=system_u:system_r:kernel_t tcont ext=rootbject_r:sbin_t tclass=file

What's the problem with it?
If modprobe worked then why following command doesn't work?

[root@localhost ndiswrapper-0.6]# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

sit0 no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

Yeah, I'm having this same problem, just the log files say smthg different. I have Fedora YArrow Release, Kernel 2.4.22.... would that be a problem? The wireless card is an Atheros AR5001X but the documentation on the ndiswrapper states only like 4 or 5 cards, are these the only brand/models that are supported, it contains the Atheros AR5004.

Thanks

Found the solution!!!

I just used new drivers available for centrino chipsets....
Not the latest one....version 0.39

and it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't find out why latest dosn't work, and 0.39 works, but I am happy now that my wireless works

You got atheros?

You gotta go here:

http://www.quadratic.net/index.php?c...armonth=200404

Iwrote notes on how I got my atheros a/b/g card to work.

I had an interesting problem . I mamanged to compile and install the atheros card drivers, but had not installed the wireless extensions to the kernel .... so even though I could see all the right modules in the /sbin/lsmod I could not use the iwX tools to config the devices.

Notes: I am running gentoo. I compile my own kernel (no rpm kernel). My laptop is an HP nc6000. I did not use ndiswrapper.
